PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Dollarmania! is a simple slot machine door program -- players can enter
from one to three coins. Online help, statistics, and payoff table is
available. The JACKPOT, player starting money, and number of turns is
SysOp configurable. The number of turns will default back to 5 until the
game is registered -- that is the only difference between the registered
and unregistered status.
Using a maintenance program, the game resets itself every seven days. At
that time, all scores and player records are reset.
The door also maintains a statitics file which will keep track of how many
times the door was played, how much money the slot machine has taken in, how
much money the machine paid out, and the percent chance of winning!
At the end of the game, the door will also create a TOP TEN bulletin.
FEATURES:
--- Colorful ANSI screens.
--- Makes TOP TEN ANSI & ASCII bulletins.
--- Chat function.
--- NO BRUN module needed for play.
--- BETA tested on five different boards.
--- Will return to BBS on dropped carrier.
--- Will TIMEOUT a player after 5 minutes of no activity.
--- Use of HOT KEYS while in the door.
--- Handy statistics presented to user on door usage.
--- Support BBS available.
--- Easy SETUP program to help you get started.
--- Easily RESET the entire program.
--- Self maintaining with maintenance program.
--- Door resets every 7 days to give ALL players a chance.

INSTALLATION:
USING THE EXTRA.EXE FILE!
This file supports various command line string: (Must be run from the
same directory as Dollarmania)
EXTRA MAINT ---> Will run the nightly maintenance on the door. Suggest
you run this as part of your nightly maintenance. This
will determine when the door resets. The door will
reset every 7 days starting on the day you set the
door up.
EXTRA RESET ---> Will reset all scores manually. This will not reset
the ALLTIME HIGH SCORE or the STATISTICS. It is
included here in case you wish to manually reset
the scores.
EXTRA SETUP ---> This command will take you into the SETUP MODE. In the
setup mode, you will create your DMANIA.CFG file and will
also be able to change the items in the SYSOP.CFG file.
NOTE: If the game is not registered, the door will
only allow each player 5 attempts at the slot per day.
Your DMANIA.CFG file should contain ALL the items listed below (with your
own data, of course). You can use your favorite TEXT EDITOR to make the
changes also. Running EXTRA SETUP will also make this file for you.
The T&J BBS 'BBS Name
Tom 'SYSOP's First Name
Wildoner 'SYSOP's Last Name
C:\WC30\WCWORK\NODE1\DOOR.SYS 'Path to CALLINFO.BBS or DOOR.SYS
19200 'NO or locked COM PORT baud rate (19200 MAX)
Your SYSOP.CFG file should contain ALL the items listed below. You can use
your text editor to edit the provided file. Running EXTRA SETUP will also
make this file for you.
20000
50
500
C:\WC30\BULL\BULL1.SCR
C:\WC30\BULL\BULL1.BBS
AUTO
LINE 1: The starting price of the JACKPOT -- the progressive JACKPOT will
increase 1 dollar for every 5 dollars bet! Once the jackpot is hit,
the statistics and jackpot are reset. I recommend starting with
20000 -- it doesn't take long to build up!
LINE 2: Number of plays per day. Recommend something between 50 and 70.
LINE 3: Player starting money (recommend 500).
LINE 4: PATH to your color bulletin.
LINE 5: PATH to your ASCII bulletin.
LINE 6: AUTOmatically check for ANSI or ASK if the user has ANSI. This line
must contain either AUTO or ASK. Sometimes the users may have a
terminal package that will use its own builtin ANSI routines. Wildcat
will not always recognize the caller as supporting ANSI when in fact
his terminal package does have it. With the word AUTO, Dollarmania
will check in DOOR.SYS or CALLINFO.BBS to see if ANSI is available
to the user. With the word ASK, Dollarmania will prompt the user if
he has ANSI support or not. I would suggest using AUTO until a user
tells you the door will not let him play because it does not "see"
him as an ANSI user.
The file MUST have all SIX lines!
Next, make your DOORx.BAT file following the example provided:
LIVECAT! USERS (WILDCAT!3.0 ONLY!!!!!!)
If you are using LIVECAT! to control your doors you will need to
make one small change in your door.bat file. LC! changes DOOR.SYS to
DOOR.ORG when it shells out to the door. You will need to add a line in
your script COPY DOOR.ORG DOOR.SYS. If you don't do this, Dollarmania!
just gives up and dies a very unhappy death. Add the above listed line
right after the ECHO OFF line.
ECHO OFF
COPY DOOR.ORG DOOR.SYS --->For WC3.x and LIVECAT ONLY!!
CD\WC30\DOOR\DMANIA
DMANIA10 DMANIA.CFG
----> Don't forget the CD\WILDCAT
lines for WC! 2.x CAT
To run in LOCAL mode simply enter: DMANIA10 LOCAL
